What do I receive when I reserve tickets to the ball?

You get vouchers that need to be exchanged by actual tickets once you get to Rio. You will be able to pick them up at our Hospitality Desk in Copacabana or have them delivered to you.  Tickets will be delivery after Feb 11, 2010.

Why can’t I see tickets for other balls on sale here?

The Scala, The Magic Ball and the Bal Masque are the only balls that sell out early. If some ball tickets are not offered here, that means that you can easily get tickets at the door.

Are ball tickets refundable?

Yes, you can get a partial refund of 70% of the price paid when you cancel before December 15, 2009. After that date, tickets are non refundable.

Do I need a costume for the Scala Balls?

No,  you don’t need to wear a costume at the Scala Balls. We suggest you wear “red and black” for the Red and Black Ball and some fancy costume if you are attending the Gay Gala Ball.

What’s the best time to arrive at the clubs?

Balls start late in the night. Arrive around midnight if you have bought your tickets in advance. If not, try to get there around 22:00 but the balls don’t start to pickup before midnight.

After your Purchase

  • Payment Process
    We will put your ball tickets on hold while your payment is processed and reconfirmed.     Please wait a couple of hours during working days. Orders placed in the weekend or US holidays will be processed the next working day. Payment forms include credit card, check by mail, wire and Western Union transfer.

  • Confirmation Email
    Congratulations! Once your payment is processed, you will receive electronic confirmation, receipt and your ball ticket vouchers, which have to be exchanged for real ball tickets.

  • How To Get Your Tickets
    The vouchers have to be exchanged for actual tickets once you get to Rio de Janeiro, thru our Hospitality Desk located in Copacabana Beach. Actual tickets are only released by Carnival authorities a few days before the event to avoid counterfeit.  

    Our Hospitality Desk will be functioning at the Rio Othon Hotel, and tickets may be exchanged from Friday February 12th thru Monday February 15th, 2010 and on Saturday February 20th, 2010 for those who purchased a Winner's Parade ticket. From 10AM to 5PM, local time.

  • Make an Appointment to receive or pick-up your ball tickets
     Log in to your account and complete any requeriments needed such as ticket delivery and pick-up appointment. You will also be able to add other carnival stuff such as parade tickets, transfers, tours and hotel accommodation packages right at your carnival page.

    On February 1st, we will provide you with our full 2010 Rio Carnival Guide including a party planner with balls and street bands schedule. It will also give you useful information on Parade Description, how to get to the sambodromo and other venues. All accomplished with insiders' recommendations, exclusively prepared to assist you.

Pick-up or Special Delivery?
Make your appointment. We hate lines, too!

Whether you opt for a special delivery or a free pick-up at our Hospitality Desk, we require you to make an appointment with us using your customer log-in page. Please login and select the most convenient time for you to come pick your tickets or to have them delivered. Making an appointment and you will get your tickets really fast when you pass by our Hospitality Desk or wait at your hotel. After all, you'd rather be on the beach or enjoying the Cidade Maravilhosa.

As you know, you can exchange your vouchers for actual tickets at our Hospitality Desk.  However, an alternative we strongly recommend is to have your ticket delivered to your hotel or preferred address in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In this case, a US$ 14 handling fee charge per ticket will be applied to a max fee of US$ 30 for multiple tickets. We also deliver to all cruise ships on February 14th and 15th in the morning. For other special arrangements, just contact our Carnival Help Desk and we will do the utmost to accommodate your request.
